Rule changes - discussion

We have been asked to form a group to help define some rule and policy changes to be put forward at the AGM this year.  Please download the attached discussion document.

The significant areas of rules / policies we are reviewing to try and improve are:

• Membership renewals – historically we have problems clarifying the membership for the rostering and program at the stat of the year as some people don’t get round to renewing membership on time.
• Boat Parking – we are still full but just about coping, we need a longer term solution.

There are two other minor clarifications proposed which I don’t believe are contentious but worth airing in advance in case there are any comments.

• Age for voting – confusion in the area of children in Family memberships.
• Membership Forms to Treasurer – remove specification of who they are returned to in rules.

 Outline plan for this is

• Late June. Initial discussion doc published on Website (my thoughts) inviting ideas.
• Mid July. Returned comments and ideas collated and published prior to an open meeting.  Ideas welcome at meeting but often easier to read / think through first.  Comments to Tony March at membership@pysc.org.uk
• End July. Open session at Club to discuss the ideas and decide way forward – hopefully just write formal proposal, but possible follow up session(s).  This will probably be a topic at the proposed "meet the committee" meetings due to start around then.
• 1^st Oct. Present to GC for inclusion in AGM agenda.
