PYSC is on the Bristol Channel with easy access to a wonderful area of sailing water. We welcome everyone whether you are a young Cadet, an experienced dinghy racer, or just looking for somewhere to learn and enjoy going afloat.
"There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats", Ratty in 'The Wind in the Willows' was right; boats are a great way to enjoy yourself.
We are a small friendly informal do-it-yourself kind of club. Racing makes up a large part of our sailing programme but we also run events throughout the year encouraging the non-competitive side of our sport. Come to our Try Sail event – open to all who want to have a try with help from our enthusiastic members – or visit us at Sugar Loaf or make contact via the website. Other light-hearted events include the Docks Fun Regatta, cruises up and down the Channel, and a growing social programme.
You don’t even need your own boat. We have a club fleet of Toppers and other sailing dinghies available for hire to Club members.
We are proud of our National Champions and World Championship competitors. However we are able to offer sailing to everybody regardless of their ability. We operate a partnership with Training Saints, a watersports tuition company, making us an RYA Accredited Training Centre. This means we can offer formal sailing and related qualifications from complete beginner upwards. Our thriving Cadet section is a great way for youngsters to get afloat.
Welcome! We look forward to sailing with you.
